East Farleigh Village Plan Action Group

The Village Plan Action Group (VPAG) was established to achieve the objectives set out in the East Farleigh Village Plan. The Village Plan was drawn up after a series of meetings, to which all residents were invited, and questionnaires had been circulated to every household. Responses were collated and further meetings held, leading to a well-attended public exhibition of results and ideas in January 2009. The comments on the ideas made at the exhibition were collated and added to the questionnaire results. Further meetings took place to ensure the final publication was a true reflection of the information collected.

An update on progress towards achieving the objectives was circulated to all households in June 2010. By this time, a number of objectives had been achieved, for example, revival of the village fete, more information about village organisations and new ones being started up. A number had been investigated and found to be beyond our scope at that time, such as changes to public transport. Significant objectives were still being discussed, namely resolving traffic problems (especially on the bridge and in Vicarage Lane), the purchase of the Church Hall for village use, the creation of a village orchard and consideration of the possibility of creating a village centre/village green.

The Action Group's report to the 2011 Annual Parish Meeting can be seen here.
